What is cellulite? Why do I have cellulite?
Cellulite is a depression of any shape or size with defined edges seen on the surface of the skin, typically on the buttocks or thighs. A major underlying cause of cellulite are the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the
structures below. These bands are called septa.2 Some septa are good (and you want them as connective tethers), but others stiffen or shrink over time and lead to the dimples we see on the surface and call cellulite.2
It’s important to distinguish cellulite from other concerns like laxity or localized fat, which we can talk you through during a consultation in our office. You should also know that cellulite is not your fault (genetics and hormones play a role), and you are not alone – up to 90% of women have it!

In 2020, MINT™ became the only PDO suture in the US market to have received dual FDA clearances and is the only device of its kind to receive clearance for a lifting indication for nasolabial fold depth reduction.

How Does It Work?MINT™ PDO thread is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia nor big incisions for your patients. There are tiny barbs strategically placed and molded all around the thread. Once the threads are placed into the skin, the barbs anchor onto sagging skin, and the thread can be maneuvered to achieve a naturally youthful and defined look. Not only can it improve the appearance of sagging skin, PDO (polydioxanone) can also help promote the stimulation of collagen and neovascularization, which helps to improve skin elasticity, texture, fine lines, and volume for a timeless rejuvenation.
